Premiere: Whistlejacket – ‘Mr Melon’

Not one for those with a phobia of clowns...

Down at their rehearsal space / studio / party area, Whistlejacket have finally found a source of freedom.

Able to make whatever noise they like whenever they like, the band have developed a sound that is by turns blistering and soothing, pastoral and quick direct.

Pressing up 100 copies of their new cassette, the London group's approach – economical, community based – is to be admired.

New cut 'Mr Melon' is like elongated grunge, the fuzzed up sound of Mudhoney stretched into languid spaces.
