Premiere: West Of The Sun – ‘Siberian Hysteria’

Psychedelic rock straight out of North London...

Rock ‘n’ roll revellers West Of The Sun return with the video for latest single ‘Siberian Hysteria’. Juxtaposing black and white band shots against dreamy, warm and colourful cuts, the track is full of psych-guitar jangles and swaggering percussion, which is all part of the band’s self-confessed “big beat manifesto”.

The quintet self-produced the song alongside engineer Shuta Shinoda (Primal Scream, Spiritualised, The Horrors) at Hackney Road Studios in East London. Guitarist Michael Howes explains the creative process of the track, “We jammed around with this song for a while and had the verses, but it was working more as a loop rather than a 'song'. One day I started messing around with that guitar hook and it began to manifest itself into something catchy.”

Having already toured with Detroit Social Club and Twisted Wheel, West Of The Sun are gearing up to play their home city this spring, following sell-out shows at London’s 100 Club and Bush Hall.
