The Bath five-piece consist of two sets of twins and another brother, five musicians who know one another inside out.
It certainly explains the incredible chemistry in their music. Dank, lysergic fare, the band's new EP 'New Year's Day' matches psychedelic tones to kitchen sink melodrama.
Available digitally and on limited vinyl (order your copy HERE), it's a delicious intro, one bedecked in songwriting quirks and a palpable sense of individuality.
We're quite partial to EP highlight 'Schmuck', a dollop of fetid garage punk with some psupremely psychedelic overtones.
“For me the word ‘Schmuck’ carries so much weight and sadness in just one syllable,” explains Voyages frontman, Will Walter. “So I fell in love with the word and felt compelled to write a song for every schmuck, deadbeat and down-and- out in every bar, in every town.”
The visuals half-inch scenes from a Soviet sci-fi film, a kind of Communist riposte to Stanley Kurbrick's trippy epic 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The band continue: “It’s an amazing looking film and has a Fisher Price quality that we loved. One day we'll have the budget to star in our own space romance movie but until then this was a lot of fun to put together.”
