Premiere: Vonica – ‘Swing State’

London artist Beatrix Blaise directs the new clip...

German born, Italian raised, and now based in London, Vonica has a truly international outlook.

The rising producer applies this openness to his music, as well, with debut EP Sol De Nit' taking its name from the Catalan phrase for 'sun at night'.

Out now, it's a collision of electronic styles, fused together into something challenging but also open and melodic.

'Swing State' is one of the standout moments on the EP, and it has gained the visual treatment courtesy of London artist Beatrix Blaise.

He explains: "The last couple of months have been a joyous ride ever since releasing the EP. It has been exciting to work with Beatrix on the video for 'Swing State'. She is an extremely talented woman with her own unique style. Been listening to Dj Koze's 'Knock Knock' on repeat. I have also been busy writing new tunes which will hopefully end up on my next EP in the new year…"

Bextrix adds: "I wanted to make a video with high energy and surrealism matching the tunes wiggliness and pace. As soon as I found Ami and Janet it was a total clicking moment – they’re just so malleable I knew I could make images with them that blended strange//fun/energetic/statuesque/dystopian. I can’t seem to escape my desire for visual explosions, so this is just another mad addition to the stock."

Tune in now.
