It looks like it's true – hard work really does pay off.
Just take a look at Vance Joy. The Australian newcomer has worked relentlessly for the past 18 months, refining his crafts and playing shows across Europe, North America and beyond.
Now it looks as though he's close to a breakthrough. Upcoming September shows have completely sold out, with debut album 'Dream Your Life Away' sitting tantalisingly on the horizon.
Recorded with renowned producer Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Foo Fighters, Gossip), 'Dream Your Life Away' represents the fullest flowering yet of the songwriter's ability.
Ahead of this, though, Vance Joy is preparing to unveil new track 'First Time'. A highlight of his debut album, it's a deft, daring depiction of heartbreak – from the male's perspective.
Candid, open and emotionally frank, 'First Time' will be given a standalone release on September 14th. Matching a simple yet effective arrangement to those honeyed tones, the track could well mark something of a breakthrough for the Australian talent.
