Premiere: Van William – ‘Revolution’ (The Kodiak Sessions)

Filmed in a Second World War bunker, no less...

Van William has always wanted to push his music as far as it will go.

Incoming debut album 'Countries' is a sign of this process, with the intense creative sessions behind the record resulting in some profoundly personal moments.

Album highlight 'Revolution' is a song of family, of loss and longing, so it makes sense for Van William to return to familiar climes for this new live session.

A stripped back performance, it was shot in a Second World War bunker, and those barren acoustics ring true on each and every note.

Van: "We shot this video in an abandoned World War II bunker on Kodiak Island in Alaska. I had just come back from weeks at sea the night before. When I watch this video now, I can see that my eyes and my brain are still out there, fishing with my dad for the last time, the music trying to pull me back into life on land. I used to play in those bunkers as a little kid, so it made sense to return to one for this song."

Tune in now.
