Premiere: To Kill A King – Smile At Last

Shot live on a rooftop...

To Kill A King are intensely bound to their surroundings.

The London group take inspiration in what they see around them, producing music that is by turns gritty and realistic, yet also poetic and romantic. Releasing two EPs to date, To Kill A King are due to press debut album 'Cannibals With Cutlery' on October 7th.

Preview cut 'Bones' is already online, but ahead of the release Clash is able to present something pretty special. Recorded as part of Ralph's Balcony Season, the band took part in a live rooftop session.

Completely stripped back, To Kill A King used little more than acoustic guitar, one mic and the barest of percussion. Borrowing a member of Benin City, it's a curious performance.

'Smile At Last' was written recently and doesn't appear on their debut album. The track unfurls and unfolds with a slight latin flavour, while the camera pans out on the iconic London skyline behind them.

Watch it now.

'Cannibals With Cutlery' is set to be released on October 7th.
