Tiggs Da Author doesn't like to shut himself off.
Open, honest and endearing onstage, the songwriter has the same approach to music. Born in Tanzania, Tiggs moved to London as a child and this shift, this exposure to sudden, alien influences seems to have kick-started a search which has yet to finish.
New track 'Georgia' is the perfect case in point. Sampling Northern Soul classic 'Shoes' by Bobby Bland, it sits somewhere between vintage R&B and the grimier moments of East London.
Gritty but poetic, harsh yet beautiful, 'Georgia' is an introduction to a deeply individual pop voice.
Tiggs Da Author comments: "I hope people will see that I’m definitely doing something a little unusual, I love music and I think that comes across when you listen to my songs. I’m not a pop act that’s been put together. This is very much my vision, my execution."
Clash is able to premiere a lyric video, featuring footage shot at Wireless festival. Check it out now.
