The first step from the bedroom to the stage can often be the most difficult.
Sheffield based artist Conor Stephenson realises this. Working on his material, quietly honing each song, each passage, the singer plucked up the courage to get onstage last year.
The impact was immediate. Slots with Woman's Hour and Rae Morris soon followed, as The Half Earth – as Stephenson dubbed himself – began to spread its wings.
'Glass' is his first track to appear online, available to download right now from SoundCloud. Ross Neil has stepped in to shoot a video which matches the intimate intensity of the music itself.
A sweeping, ambitious cut, 'Glass' seems to build and build, with The Half Earth using sparsity, silence almost as an instrument in its own right.
Watch it now.
