Turkish shoegaze group The Away Days have always had an extra bite to their songwriting.
Focussing on what truly matters to them, the band apply walls of sound to lyrics that speak clearly and often poignantly about life and its perils.
New video 'Calm Your Eyes' is a case in point. The clip follows a gay couple, two men whose love is evident from the opening frame.
At times wry and amusing, the video then takes a tragic turn. It's heartbreaking, but enlightening – sadly, there are many places in the world where dark prejudices still hold sway.
