Premiere: The Album Leaf – ‘New Soul’

From the reclusive project's upcoming album...

The Album Leaf have a slim yet nigh on immaculate catalogue.

The project last released an album in 2010, with the Sub Pop backed 'A Chorus of Storytellers' winning overwhelming acclaim.

Taking time over his next step, Jimmy LaValle is preparing to release the long awaited follow up in 2016. Before then, Clash is able to premiere new cut 'New Soul'. It's an intoxicating return, the billowing electronics seeming to twist and turn into something humane.

“I wanted to experiment with my vocals,” LaVelle says about the song. “I’ve never been fully comfortable with the inconsistencies of my voice. I’m not a singer, I just choose to sing sometimes. I wanted to keep the honesty and not think about it too much. Lyrically, the song is about moving forward, getting out of your comfort zone.”

Clash is able to premiere the mysterious, monochrome visuals – a true journey, you can dive in below.
