There's simply about mid-Winter.
It's a time of the year imbued with a certain atmosphere. Regardless of religious persuasions (or lack of them), the dark nights of December seem to be imbued with a certain unknown mythology.
Returning with new album 'Wild Winter', Smoke Fairies appear to have tapped into this mid-Winter noir. It's an intriguing return, one which allies their soft, folk-hued vocals to some rather distorted effects.
Named as Album Of The Month by no less a source than Rough Trade, Smoke Fairies are set to play a burst of in-stores around the country.
Alongside this, the band have unveiled the video for '3 Kings'. A seasonal treat, the clip is a cute, animated tale which tells an alternate tale of the three kings of Biblical fame.
