Sean Pineiro is well travelled.
The producer studied anthropology in Utrecht, before escaping to New York to focus on his music. Returning to Europe with a degree in music composition, his work filters a vast array of influences, of ideas through an electronic framework.
The results are curious. Sure, there are comparisons, parallels – Ki Records compatriot Christian Loeffler, for example – but it's the individuality of his voice which rings out most clear.
New album 'Saved Once Twice' arrives on June 23rd, a work of graceful, understated beauty. At times pastoral, ambient, Sean Pineiro is also able to suggest something darker, something threatening amidst the gloom.
'Grounds' is taken from the new LP, and comes equipped with mysterious black and white visuals. The slate grey cinematography seems to match the melancholy inherent in the music, ending with a fade to black.
