Summer seems to be (finally) intruding upon British life.
The sun is streaming in through the windows of the Clash office, with deep blue skies stretching across London.
It's a time for something soft, for something rather more refined. Thankfully, rising songwriter Roo Panes has met our needs.
With three acclaimed EPs already under his belt, the singer recently outlined plans for his debut album. Due this Autumn, Roo Panes' debut album will find the songwriter expanding on his early promise, that lilting talent which sits somewhere between Dylan's introspection and Nick Drake's deeply English musings.
For now, Clash is able to premiere new single 'Tiger Striped Sky'. Redolent of long summer evenings and blazing skylines, it matches Panes' delicate delivery to a soft, almost classical arrangement.
“Think I’ll write a tale of my own
I’m going southbound where the ocean is flirting with the coast
And tell me why
I’m underneath a tiger striped sky”
