Premiere: Rayon Nelson – ‘Freedom’

Indie-soul that thrives on a sense of common humanity...

The world is more inter-connected now than ever.

Events in the United States ricochet across the Atlantic, replayed almost instantly on social media.

London based indie-soul artist Rayon Nelson has decided that he can't turn his back, and instead uses his music to spread positivity.

With a new EP incoming Rayon is ready to unveil 'Freedom', a powerful new song that surges towards personal independence.

Connecting racism, the refugee crisis, and the rise of right wing nationalism, Rayon Nelson finds a path through these disturbances.

He comments: "The song is about 'Freedom'. I wrote it after being inspired and somewhat burdened to do something about the killing of young youths and also about a story of a young refugee girl a friend told me about. My mentality before was, I don’t have any money so I can’t do much… but I realised I could write a song! So this is a way of doing something!"

The video places these events in a visual context, an imaginative, eye-catching, and somewhat moving offering.

Tune in now.
