Portico Quartet enjoyed an expansive, enormously creative career, gaining Mercury nominations in the process.
Further exploring electronic music, the departure of Nick Mulvey sparked a re-contexualisation of the manner in which the group made music.
Pursuing fresh paths, Portico was born. A trio, the group's debut album 'Living Fields' will be released on Monday (March 30th) and it's an engaging, dextrous and continually surprising introduction.
Guest vocals come from Jamie Woon and alt-J's Joe Newman, lendingneat focal points to the group's heady, often quite weighty production sense.
'101' was one of the first tracks to emerge from 'Living Fields', a beautifully engrossing piece which allies bass textures to Joe Newman's high, keening voice.
Clash is able to premiere the accompanying visuals, which feature a chance meeting between a diver and a shark. Beautifully shot in defined monochrome, there's both a sense of grandeur and threat as the shark repeatedly swims past.
