There's an aspect of London life that will forever be dominated by Americana.
It's from this stream that Orphan Colours have emerged. Featuring a raft of familiar faces – members include former contributors to Noah & The Whale, Ahab and Danny & The Champions of the World – the band's debut EP 'High Hopes' arrives on February 26th.
Breezy, carefree and unpretentious songwriting, the EP brings the band's experience to the fore but in a fresh, illuminating way. Initially bonding over classic Tom Petty tracks, there's a sense of classicism at work here, alongside a need to attempt something different, something unique.
The EP opens with 'Won't Let You Down' and Clash is able to unveil the accompanying visuals. An energetic performance clip, it sets out Orphan Colours' stall quite clearly – great songwriting, performed for sheer love, without an agenda in sight.
