There's a flavour to the vocal, a bite to the songwriting which belies her tender years, with Okenyo betraying enormous confidence.
New track 'Just A Story' is online now, a neo-soul tinged introduction with snappy lyrics and a barbed delivery.
Director Laura Scrivano stepped in to oversee the accompanying visuals, shooting the resulting video across a single day in Brooklyn.
The film maker comments: "Whiskey, sushi, Lady Liberty, Carrie Mae Weems, Michel Gondry and the Ancient Greeks all came to hang out while we made the video… Well, at least they did in our heads."
