Motez escaped from Iraq as a refugee, an experience that shaped his joyous zest for freedom, and for life.
A songwriter with a rare ability to connect, his fusion of electronics, alt-R&B and pop makes for an infectious blend.
Easy on the ear and totally addictive, Motez' work has spread across the web, seized upon by radio in the process.
Each step of the way, though, the songwriter has kept it real, using what lies beneath as his sole inspiration.
Take new cut 'The Future'. Blessed with a wistful sense of soul, it features Antony & Cleopatra vibing above those sumptuous electronics.
He explains: "'The Future' is a song I wrote a few years ago with my good friend Alex Burnett. It’s a song about a relationship that came to a conclusion and all of a sudden I found myself facing the path of an uncertain future."
"It's about the fundamental truth that sometimes we inevitably grow apart, and while we mourn a love lost, we celebrate that we once loved and were loved. It deals with the struggle to find the courage to acknowledge to yourself, and your lover that the future you once shared is no longer the future that you picture."
"I wish for this song to ultimately be hopeful. It comes from a very personal experience thus it is the most honest I have ever been as artist through my music, I hope I conveyed that message to you and that you enjoy it."
