Premiere: Lost Horizons – ‘Score The Sky’ (IYEARA Remix)

An intriguing re-working...

Lost Horizons is a new project that hinges on the relationship between Simon Raymonde and Richie Thomas.

The Bella Union founder and former Cocteau Twins guitarist has known the percussionist for some time, and then chemistry between them allows the two musicians to take their material in new directions.

A full album is out now, with Lost Horizons utilising a variety of guest collaborators, while vocalists included Marissa Nadler, Tim Smith (formerly of Midlake), and more.

Album highlight 'Score The Sky' was an ambitious melding of a stripped back arrangement and some tender songwriting, and it has now received a full re-working.

IYEARA – helmed by Duke Spirit guitarist Toby Butler, alongside producer Malcolm Carson and singer Paul O’Keefe – have remixed the track, pushing it into a fresh realms.

Picking up on the latest darkness of the original, IYEARA have re-built 'Score The Sky' in their own image. Toby Butler explains:

"We wanted to weave some dark and delicious synths into the fabric of the song. The lyric "let it hold you" felt like a great theme, and that allowed us to take it to a new place… The video draws out that odder, more ominous side.”

Tune in now.
