Premiere: Jean Michel Jarre Talks ‘Watching You’

New collaboration with Massive Attack's 3D...

Jean Michel Jarre is one of the founding fathers of electronic music.

Intrigued by the developments of musique concrete, the French musician abandoned his guitars for analogue synthesisers.

The 'Oxygene' album followed. Released in 1977, it broke all records and established electronic music as a vital commercial form and kick-started a unique career.

Working on a new album (pre-order LINK), Jean Michel Jarre has collaborated with a number of guest producers including John Carpenter, Vince Clarke, Tangerine Dream, M83, Gesaffelstein and Armin van Buuren, among others.

Massive Attack producer 3D stops by on 'Watching You' a track which wraps Jean Michel Jarre's electronic innovations in a warm, bass-led glow.

Clash has obtained a video interview with the French artist, in which Jean Michel Jarre outlines his thoughts on electronic music and his appreciation of Massive Attack.
