There's an awkward sort of charm to Hot Flash Heat Wave.

A San Fran quartet who sit somewhere between Weezer and the Beach Boys, they have a fine line in guitar-driven pop songs – except they deliver them in a unique fashion.

New cut 'Gutter Girl' is a case in point. All off kilter guitar lines, chiming harmonies and a gentle, summer-laden pulse, it has an intoxicating, sunshine charm.

A sign of things to come, 'Gutter Girl' appears on the band's upcoming album 'Neapolitan'. Due for release on September 11th, Clash is able to tease the album with a fresh video.
