Premiere: Habitats – ‘Boogie Waltzer’

Rising Hampshire newcomers with a tropical groove...

Habitats have a tropical sense of groove, a songwriting sensibility that is packed with colour.

Perhaps that's a reaction to their Hampshire upbringing, to the rather staid suburbia they spent their teenage years in.

Itching to get out, the group recently flew out to New York to lay down some studio material. New EP 'Jungle' is set to follow, with Clash able to premiere the video for lead cut 'Boogie Waltzer'.

Opening with a commuter mulling over his static life, it's an incredible plea to get out there and live your life. Joe Payne:

"We live in a day an age where sometimes we can all seem a little too scared to come out from our shiny sea shells and have a little fun. Things like your image, reputation and what's deemed as "cool" can get the best of all of us at times. So this is a light hearted message to everyone out there to let your hair down once and a while and not worry about how much of a total weirdo you can be."

"We wrote and directed the DIY masterpiece on a Sunday morning/afternoon in Islington, carefully choosing the beautifully sombre locations of garages and the local park to give it that warm welcoming feeling. After five hours armed with a few beers, a bottle of whiskey and camera this is what we came up with. Christopher Nolan eat your heart out, thinking the next video will be a collaboration Adele and David Attenborough."
