Australia's music scene seems to be seizing the initiative.
The country is producing new talent at a rate rarely seen before, with everyone from Sia to Iggy Azalea reaching international success.
Alongside this, though, Australia's electronic scene is proving to be increasingly fertile. Newcomers from Ballarat, Gold Fields are the perfect example.
With their glistening synths and gorgeous vocals, the band simply sound as though they've spent their lives under the platinum Australian sun.
Yet there's a nagging melancholy here as well. New single 'Hold Me' – out now – has a driven, euphoric pulse but beneath the vocal lies just a hint of uncertainty.
