Gavin Clark is a name that might not be familiar to you – but his voice will be.
The songwriter appears at the end of This Is England, his voice intoning a moving version of The Smiths' 'Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want' to bring down the curtain on one of British cinema's finest moments.
Sadly passing away last year, Gavin Clark's work left a deep impression on all who heard it. TOYDRUM – Pablo Clements and James Griffith – vowed to see his album sessions through to completion, resulting in Evangelist.
Part collaboration and part tribute, the album will be released on December 11th and it's a moving, inspiring ode to creation.
Clash is able to premiere the video for 'Whirlwind Of Rubbish' and the track is a wonderfully sparse, deeply affecting piece of songwriting. TOYDRUM's production seems to take the song to another place entirely, while the visuals lend another dimension to 'Whirlwind Of Rubbish'.
