Believe it or not, but Darren Hayman has never made a proper solo record.
Until now, that is. New album 'Florence' was recorded in the city of the same name, the material laid down in recording sessions at the Firenze flat belonging to Elizabeth Morris (Allo Darlin’) and Ola Innset (Making Marks).
Out now via Fika Recordings, the sparse and poignant songwriting has a profoundly English feel at odds with the continental setting it was recorded in.
