Albert Hammond Jr. has a nigh on spotless solo record.
Picking up where the new wave splendour of The Strokes ends, the songwriter has broadened his scope without losing sight of where his strengths lie.
New album 'Momentary Masters' will be released on July 31st, and it's a fantastic mixture of adept songwriting and crisp, energetic musicianship.
Oh, and a Dylan cover. Recorded at Albert's studio in upstate New York, there's a relaxed feeling to the music; rarely hurried, 'Momentary Masters' retains the ice cool atmosphere which fires up the very best work of the guitarist's day job.
Out on July 31st, Clash is able to trail the new album by premiering the video for opening cut 'Born Slippy'. Supreme indie rock fare, it comes on like a snappy CBGBs style anthem but could only have emerged in 2015.
