Pelicandy have shared the twilight video for new track 'Animals'.
The London four-piece recently shared the melodic pop-poem, a fine return following a string of activity in 2017.
Out now on Hand In Hive, Pelicandy have now unfurled the video for 'Animals' and it's a feast for the eyes.
Rising director Renée Rodenkirchen shot the video in Toronto, and it echoes the glistening, glamorous late-night feel of the music.
Featuring the incredible dance moves of Roney Lewis, it's an entrancing, hypnotic clip, with the director commenting…
The video for ‘Animals’ happened really organically through friends. We went into conceptualizing for the video knowing we wanted a dancer to be the main focus. The Pelicandy guys knew a girl from Toronto and she suggested Roney who happens to live in the city; immediately we knew he was perfect. He kind of has this effortless cool factor to him – like he doesn't really give a shit, but at the same time is super talented and polished as a dancer. Also… his lips!
I usually shoot super bright and glossy, so I wanted to try something totally different that was kind of dark and moodier. Chinatown at night was perfect – it's full of these super rich red and yellow lights and the ambient light is this cool green/blue.
The best moment was walking through these busy streets with Roney dancing past people and them just looking at him so confused or pulling out their phones and filming him. One shopkeeper even joined in at one point which was super fun.
Tune in now.
