Off Guard At Bestival

Watch the latest interviews!

Bestival is truly unique, the festival’s eclectic bill and friendly atmosphere breed the wreckless abandon to not only revel in the finest music of the year but to also explore the annual fancy dress theme without fear of mockery.

This year organiser Rob da Bank chose ‘fantasy’ and the ClashMusic and Right Guard team, complete with 2 Beetlejuices, a gorilla, a Lara Croft, a She-ra, a fantasy footballer and an NYPD cop travelled to Bestival to capture a range of footage, that to many is the stuff of fantasy.

The Off-Guard gigs team secured interviews and performances with some of the top stars on site, including Chic’s Nile Rodgers, a man who has written more songs for more stars than you could possibly imagine. His Wikipedia page is a true education.

Mercury nominees Wild Beasts also joined us to chat post-ceremony, and Beardyman and then the Cuban Brothers created a song and dance with of all people Mr Motivator, while we kicked a ball about with Dizzee Rascal. If we were to add in that we spent breakfast on Saturday learning the didgeridoo with Rolf Harris you can get the impression of the kind of fun that was had.

Right Guard’s original 1960s VW camper van was the setting for all of the action, and proved one of the most unique and popular stages of the weekend, playing host to intimate and exclusive performances and interviews all weekend.

Take your pick from the list below to get a first hand view of the fun we had….
