O. Children – Ruins

Dark, menacing new talent

Goth. Perhaps the one British sub-culture never to have enjoyed a revival.

Deeply unfashionable, those who dwell on the dark side are often shunned. O. Children could change all that, however.

Indebted to those early 80s groups who caught hold of Joy Division’s beauty-in-darkness schtick, the London based newcomers have a booming baritone voice which mixes Nick Cave with Ian Curtis.

Debut single ‘Dead Disco Dancer’ was an uncompromising glimpse into their world, with O. Children now set to unleash – and that is definitely the phrase we’re after – their new single.

‘Ruins’ is a stark yet beautiful track, reminding us of everyone from The Cult to long lost Cold Wave acts. Personally invited to open for Editors, Tom Smith & Co. had better watch their backs as O. Children could well upstage them.

Watch it now…
