Lonelady has always had a playful side to her music.
Sure, the Manchester-based musician may enjoy cerebral explorations – utilising post-punk influences, proto-techno ideas – but, at heart, it's all about having fun.
The new video for 'Hinterland' is certainly fun. Directed by Juliet Ellis and featuring animation from Daniela Shearer, the clip is packed with colour.
Nodding towards Seasame Street and Soul Train, Lonelady explains: "…this is the land of childhood wonder, and magic, and playful movement… we'd create kingdoms with our imaginations… and that's a big part of what the song is about…"
