King Krule – Octopus

Moody...

King Krule is difficult to peg but impossible to ignore.

Still almost frighteningly young, the producer's grimy beats could only be born in London. Allied to this, though, is a fractured songwriting sensibility which matches spider-like guitar lines against melodies which worm their way into your sub-conscious and spring out when you least expect it.

Adorning the current cover of Clash Magazine, the youthful artist has just unveiled a new video. 'Octopus' is the flip-side of 'Rock Bottom' the single which was released at the tail end of 2012 via Rinse.

Much more than a throwaway, 'Octopus' is a strange, beguiling beast of its own. Allied to this is the new video – directed by Paraic and Michael Morrissey it's a surreal affair that bares some of the atmosphere David Lynch is capable of injecting into his own cinematic works.

Featuring a suit-clad Archy Marshall, the video follows the singer as a young girl waits for him in the bath tub. It's a strange clip, but one that is still bizarrely compelling…

Watch it now.
