Kathryn Joseph scooped the SAY Award in emotional circumstances earlier this year, with her magnificent but low-key debut album 'bones you have thrown me and blood i've spilled' securing the top prize.
A worthy winner, the resulting attention has afforded 'bones you have thrown me and blood i've spilled' a much wider audience than perhaps even the songwriter herself anticipated.
The video for 'the bird' will only enhance this. A wonderful collaboration with Scottish Ballet, it features a lone dancer on an abandoned beach as the sun begins to set.
Sparse and intimately shot, the action comes from the dancer's graceful movements – and of course, the magnificent Scottish scenery itself.
