Japanese Breakfast is clearly in a creative phase.
Less than 18 months after the release of her debut album the American artist delivered follow up 'Soft Sounds From Another Planet', a wonderful demonstration of her bold, blossoming talent.
Real name Michelle Zauner, she directs the beautiful new clip for album standout 'The Body Is A Blade'. It's a real gem, too; faded, hazy visuals that manage to drip with nostalgia while still being grippingly emotive.
She explains: “I've always loved the way old photographs look. For this video I spent a lot of time searching family albums for sets of old photographs to animate.”
“I wanted this video to commemorate my mother who died three years ago today”, she continues, ‘It felt fitting for the song to create a really personal mixed media piece, almost like a moving scrapbook.”
