Kim Talon wants to create a stir.
Formerly of Los Angeles duo Eagle & Talon, the songwriter is now based in Brooklyn. Taking the name JAN, Talon went into the studio last year with esteemed producer John Goodmanson to focus on her new album.
Fusing a guitar attack with a pop sensibility, there are nods towards Riot Grrrl greats such as Sleater-Kinney while Kim Talon's voice has the same ignore-me-at-your-peril shock which ripples through Karen O.
Teasing fans with a few new tracks, JAN recently unveiled the controversial clip 'Work For The City'. New song 'Some Bite / Some Bitten' is as raucous as The Cramps, but as ever Kim Talon can only ever be herself.
The video for the track is set to cause a stir. Shot by Robert Scott Wildes, it features a storyboard of Talon's thoughts as she becomes embroiled in a sadistic kidnap plot of a former lover.
Watch it now.
