Press releases are funny old beasts.
Designed for a specific audience (journalists, bloggers, other creative folks) there's no set template to follow, no pre-set design to fall into. That said, the Clash team are pretty sure they've never received one featuring a pull quote from a prominent poet before.
At least, not until now. I Am Kloot are readying their new album, and asked award winning writer Simon Armitage to pen a few thoughts on their work: “There’s something familiar and immediate about the sound they make, so much so that even a new song can find a place in the memory vault, even before it’s finished playing, as if we’d been listening to it for years".
Who are we to disagree? New album 'Let It All In' drops on January 21st, and profiles a band who know where their strengths lie and work on enhancing them. I Am Kloot have drafted an album which is confident in its subtlety, with repeated listens revealing a complex elegance to their songwriting.
Ahead of its release, Clash have been handed a clip of the band in conversation. I Am Kloot are shown discussing album track 'These Days Are Mine' which is currently being ushered onto the release schedule as a single in its own right.
Watch their thoughts now.
