Hockeysmith’s ‘Dare You’ Is An Evocation Of Cornwall’s Rave Culture

New album 'Tears At My Age' is out now...

Hockeysmith is based in Cornwall, and both the area's landscape and people play a deep role in her music.

It's a place where she can seclude herself and focus on her art, but it also provides a backdrop and foundation to what she wants to achieve.

Immersed in a closeknit community, Hockeysmith spent the bulk of last summer at parties and informal raves across Cornwall.

As the nights drew on her recent EP 'Tears At My Age' took shape, and she returns to these memories in her new video.

'Dare You' is a real high point on the new EP, and it comes equipped with visuals that draw on home movies, camera phones, and other intimate ways of viewing the world.

She comments: "This is us having fun at some parties we organised around my bus in Cornwall and footage from my local gigs captured by friends in Falmouth. It is a compilation of all the good times we had last year."
