Famy are at once both familiar and completely distinct.
Members of the band hooked up with some former WU LYF musicians to create the faux-disco off-shoot Los Porcos, gaining some press in the process.
All the while, though, Famy was gestating. Debut single 'Dogg Dogg' was an intriguing introduction, but since then it seems that the group have managed to tap into their undoubted potential.
Transgressive backed new single 'a Ho a Hand' has a blissful elegance which contains fragments of Animal Collective, with each voice inter-weaving into a vast, choral whole. Alongside this, there the simplistic, nurturing indie jangle of The Pastels or the sunshine pop of The Go-Betweens with the gentle guitar line suggesting so much yet revealing so little.
