Diddy’s new album ‘THE LOVE ALBUM: OFF THE GRID’ is out now, received rapturously by fans. A broad record constructed alongside a slew of guests, it found a creatively engaged Diddy acting as conductor for the multi-talented cast.
R&B goddess Teyana Taylor appears on album highlight ‘Closer To God’, a gospel-soaked outing that features two scintillating vocals. The recording was a long-time aim for Diddy, who is a huge admirer of the singer’s work.
“Teyana is not just an incredible artist, she’s my sister,” he says in a press note. “She has this undeniable force and raw emotion she brings to every project.”
“When we began conceptualising ‘Closer To God,’ her name was at the forefront of my mind. I had to convince her to come out of retirement, but I knew she would perfectly capture the spiritual essence and depth of the song.
