Devon Sproule began life constructing impeccable Americana.
It's here that her roots lie, that her songwriting is based on. However the Canadian artist has drifted far from any conventional notion of the term, with recent output floating somewhere between loose-limbed jazz and breezy pop.
A new collaboration with Mike O'Neill seems to find the songwriter spinning these influences into one coherent whole. A member of the Inbreds, he seems to act as the perfect foil for Devon Sproule, with his rough hewn voice going up against her angelic croon.
New album 'Colours' is set to be released via Tin Angel on September 23rd, but ahead of this Devon Sproule and Mike O'Neill are set to release new single 'You Can't Help It'.
Effortlessly contagious pop music, you can watch the video for 'You Can't Help It' first on Clash.
