Crystal Castles have unveiled their new video for 'Sad Eyes', a propulsive highlight from their third album, 'III'.
The grainy VHS-style clip co-produced by KK KK (Marco Panazzo and Rob Hawkins) and filmed in Berlin and Toronto combines footage of their live shows with eerie images of people kissing in masks.
The Canadian group's third album, 'III', released on November 12th last year, has been received as a departure from their lo-fi electro-punk beginnings, heading towards euphoric David Guetta-style pop hooks with swirling synths and autotuned vocals.
The shortened 'Sad Eyes' clip is an imposing rush of dark-pop with Glass cooing menacingly and proving that nihilistic, politically charged electro-pop can be cool and catchy. Crystal Castles finished their UK tour on November 28th and begin their world tour on January 22nd, which includes dates in Australia, Japan, Spain, France and the USA.
