Axel Flóvent’s Guitar Pop Cut ‘Close To You’ Is A Real Pearl

A soaring return from the Icelandic talent...

Iceland is a creative hub, a place where virtually everyone seems to have written a book, acted in a play, or formed a superb, genre-defining pop group.

One of the sad things about Iceland, though, is that if you want to take your music to the world then you probably need to leave, at least for those lengthy tours across Europe and North America.

Axel Flóvent grew up in the tiny Icelandic fishing village of Husavik, a place dominated by history and incredible scenery, and a space he could make his own.

Crafting dappled indie pop hymns, his music sounds like The Cure's imperial Top 40 phase crossed with The 1975's ambitious futurism.

New single 'Close To You' is a real pearl, a fine return from the an artist with deep roots in Iceland, but also a wanderlust touring tendency.

An addictive return, you can check out 'Close To You' below.
