William Fitzsimmons has outlined plans for a number of British dates later this month.
Released earlier this year, William Fitzsimmons’ album ‘Gold In The Shadow’ had an impact which could not be shaken off that easily. With his gently plucked guitar lines, the songwriter seemed to intone something that was deeply personal, yet not easy to define.
A cathartic document, William Fitzsimmons recently revealed that ‘Gold In The Shadow’ represented the confrontation of certain issues which have infected his life. “I had reached the point where I was either going to yield to my sicknesses or engage them headlong. In either case, I could no longer continue the way I was.”
Given widespread acclaim on its release, ‘Gold In The Shadow’ was a powerful, provocative work. William Fitzsimmons has now confirmed plans to visit the UK, bringing his intense, meditative material with him.
ClashMusic caught up with the songwriter over the summer for an exclusive live performance. Singing his track ‘Bird Of Winter Prey’ you can watch the clip HERE.
The upcoming dates begin with a show at London’s Barfly venue on November 7th, before heading to Leeds, Oxford, Manchester and more.
Hitting Glasgow on November 11th, William Fitzsimmons will hop over the Irish Sea to Dublin before ending the tour in London. Set to perform at the Union Chapel on November 17th, the show is one of the songwriter’s most high profile headline dates in the UK so far.
