Wild Beasts For iTunes Festival

Roundhouse show announced

Cumbrian indie mavericks Wild Beasts have been added to the line up of this year’s iTunes festival.

In the humble world of British indie music, it can sometimes seem that bands are inter-changeable. Four blokes on stage with guitars, singing about somehow transcending nine to five existence.

Sound familiar? Well Wild Beasts are a little more extravagant. Set to play a joint headline show with The xx at this year’s Roundhouse show, the Cumbrian act will bring their spectacular live set to the capital.

The band are set to perform at the iTunes festival, with entry free to competition winners. Wild Beasts will no doubt draw heavily on last year’s ‘Two Dancers’ album – a true Marmite experience.

For the uninitiated the album was a bewildering mix of weird vocals and Shakespearean rhymes, while for those who fell under its spell ‘Two Dancers’ was a refreshing antidote to generic indie.

To coincide with the new date, Wild Beasts are set to re-visit album highlight ‘Hooting & Howling’ on July 12th. The iTunes date is the first in a series of festival shows, with the Cumbrian mavericks set to play sets at The Great Escape, Music Week, Stag & Dagger and Dot To Dot within the next month.
