Wickerman has added several more names to its 2012 line up, with Jake Bugg venturing to the Scottish festival.
Hidden away close to the border, Wickerman have built up a reputation for being one of Scotland’s most vital summer events. The festival will return this year, and organisers are putting the finishing touches to a typically widespread bill.
Newcomer Jake Bugg will perform at the Dumfries event, with media hype following the youthful talent wherever he goes. Set to appear at Wickerman, the songwriter will be joined by fellow new additions Skerryvore, Ginger & The Tramp and more.
Always keen to support new talent, Wickerman is also a stop for the goNorth tour. Aiming to support grassroots Scottish talent, the goNorth project has evolving into a nationwide event with several summer shows planned.
Stopping by Wickerman, the festival will support appearances from Blue Sky Archives, Xavia, Washington Irving, Quickbeam and more.
Edinburgh hip hop act Stanley Odd will bring their surreal, hilarious, energetic live show to Wickerman as part of the goNorth project alongside The Mirror Trap, John Wean and many, many more.
“We are thrilled to be taking the goNORTH Festival Tour back to the Wickerman Festival this year”, said goNORTH Director for Music, Shaun Arnold. “Wickerman has established itself as one of the most diverse festivals on the calendar and has demonstrated a sustained commitment to supporting new music across genres. Our stage last year proved a huge success and we are really excited to be returning with twenty of the most exciting new acts in Scotland”.
