White Lies For Roskilde

Danish events grabs Londoners

One of the year’s biggest success stories White Lies have been added to the bill for this summer’s Roskilde Festival.

Held in Denmark, Roskilde began life as a music and arts festival founded by students to promote alternative lifestyles. Now three decades on the event has grown into one of Europe’s biggest music events, scoring some exclusive performances by massive artists.

This year alone Roskilde is set to be headlined by Oasis and Coldplay. The Manchester group are limiting their festival appearances this summer due to commitments resulting from their upcoming UK stadium tour. Coldplay, meanwhile, aren’t playing any and this is an exclusive opportunity to watch the band in action.

Also due to play on the bill are the soon to go on hiatus American industrial rockers Nine Inch Nails and masked metal merchants Slipknot.

White Lies have been one of the year’s biggest success stories to date. Arriving amid an avalanche of hype, the band’s epic, brooding sound seems to have caught the mood of a nation left out of pocket thanks to a few dozen bankers.

Debut album ‘To Lose My Life’ waltzed into the charts at number one, overnight making the band a household name. With White Lies improving with every show they play, the band are in demand this summer and are set make a number of festival appearances.

Other new additions to the bill for Roskilde are Balstyrko and Paavoharju. Overall, more than 170 acts will play this year’s Roskilde festival, with 75,000 people expected to attend.

Roskilde takes place between July 2nd – 5th.
