Weather Affects Bestival

Stage Closed, Sets Cancelled

The extreme weather over the weekend has affected people across the country, and music event Bestival was no exception with an entire stage being closed.

Torrnetial rain this wekeend forced the closure of the BBC Introducing Stage at the Bestival event. A three-hour downpour left the low-lying ground in front of the stage dangerously waterlogged, and festival organiser Rob Da Bank took the step of cancelling all sets at the stage.

Amongst the acts who suffered as a result were Black Kids, Sam Sparro and Lykke Li alongside many others. Storm weather swept Southenr England over the weekend, bringing down powerlines and causing chaos in the traffic network. The Isle Of Wight festival suffered the brunt of it, with ferocious winds and heavy rain putting a dampener on the occasion.

Bestival nonetheless had a stellar bill including sets from Amy Winehouse, Hot Chip and special guest Grace Jones. Expect some more Bestival coverage soon!
