Side splitting American indie types We Are Scientists are set to kick start their ‘The American Barbarians Tour’ in November.
We Are Scientists are funny people. Not funny weird, of course, but funny as in side splitting humour. If the band ever tire of crafting punching-the-air indie anthems they are assured of a career in comedy.
Returning with their recent album ‘Barbara’ the band were bolstered by new member Andy Burrows. Once of Razorlight, the drummer has long been known as one of rock music’s nice guys.
Perhaps their most energetic statement yet, ‘Barbara’ marked the return of We Are Scientists. Dogged by internal friction, the band were reduced to a duo following the release of a lacklustre second album.
But you can’t keep a good band down, and We Are Scientists are set to come racing back with a lengthy British tour. Titled ‘The American Barbarians Tour’ the new jaunt will take the trio across the country.
Speaking to fans, Chris Cain claimed that the tour is going to be something to remember. “The American Barbarians Tour is, in my estimate, going to be the sexiest, bloodiest, down-and-dirtiest carnival of ecstasy since, at the latest, Roman times – and who can be sure those stories are even true?”
Who indeed! The new tour kicks off in Portsmouth on November 15th, with dates moving across the country. We Are Scientists are due to play Glasgow’s ABC venue on November 25th, before finally finishing the tour in Nottingham on November 27th.
Tickets for the tour are due to go on sale from 9am on Friday (July 23rd).
