The Cribs have posted the video for their recent track ‘Anna’, directed by Martin Creed.
The Cribs and Martin Creed go back a long way. Growing up together in Wakefield, the Jarmans knew Creed as an aspiring artist, whose interest in music allowed for a natural friendship to blossom.
Keeping in touch, Martin Creed’s band were recently invited to support The Cribs. Swapping ideas, the visual artist has now stepped in to complete the clip for recent album cut ‘Anna’.
Given the official title ‘Work # 1431’ the video uses intimate photographs taken by The Cribs themselves. Pieced together by Martin Creed, each image cuts in and out to the music creating something engaging and oddly moving.
