Celebrated charity War Child have unveiled details of a new event starring The Invisible and more.
Dedicated to helping children trapped in war torn countries, War Child is also known for incorporating music into its activities. Releasing all star compilations, the organisation has now revealed details of a new one off show.
Titled ‘Army Of You’ a new London gig is set to raise awareness and funds for the charity. War Child are set to take over the Cargo venue in Shoreditch on July 1st, with a host of great musical acts taking part.
Nominated for a Mercury Music Prize with their debut album, The Invisible are a sizzling live act. Their challenging indie rock pushes back boundaries but remains an immensely listen-able experience.
Set to headline ‘Army Of You’ The Invisible will be joined by a host of other acts. Newcomers O. Children have been earning plaudits for their dark sound, recalling the gothic heights of Joy Division.
With new single ‘Ruins’ achieving some influential radio plays, O. Children are definitely a group to look out for. Elsewhere, fans at ‘Army Of You’ can expect DJ sets from dubstep guru Oneman, Disco 300 and Friendly Fires.
The shoegaze trio are working on their second album, with Friendly Fires set to release new material later this year. Taking time out especially for War Child, acoustic sets from Beans On Toast and Cheetahs complete the bill.
Aiming to raise funds in order to assist those in the world’s most war torn regions, ‘Army Of You’ is a superb mix of music and a worthy cause.
